BS 180

Now for the BS 180. This trick is a bit harder than the FS, but you shouldn’t have too much trouble.

The foot position this time is exactly the same as the Ollie. You want your toes on the board this time, because you’re going to be turning into them, and you don’t want them slipping off of the board.

BS 180
As with all tricks, you’re going to want to do it rolling. It helps a lot. Give yourself a push, set your feet up and bend your knees.

BS 180
This time turn your shoulders the opposite way that you did when we did the FS 180. Pop the board and un-wind your shoulders. For this trick, I would suggest levelling out the board as soon as you can. It helps with your balance because you can’t really see your landing anyway, so you want to feel as comfortable as possible.

Keep the rotation going, and as soon as you can see in the direction you’re rolling in again, that’s your cue to land. Straighten your legs and stay balanced.

You’re probably going to land slightly off of 180 for awhile until you get really comfortable with this trick, so just pivot the rest of the way round until you can land perfectly.

Don’t worry if you bail on this trick for awhile before you get it. When you first start off it’s hard. My advice is to put your heart into it, and it will come quicker than you think. Also don’t be afraid of bailing. It happens and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you can learn how to fall without injuring yourself too bad. Yes there is a technique and it’s different for everyone, so just go with it.
